North Kerry Way

Grade: Moderate

Length: 48km

Starting Point: The Rose Hotel

End Point: Ballyheigue

The North Kerry Way is a 48-kilometre linear walking route through the northern part of County Kerry in the south-west of Ireland, starting at The Rose Hotel and ending in the town of Ballyheigue.  

While not as well-known as the Iveragh or Dingle Peninsula, North Kerry has much to offer, including spectacular seascapes, the finest beaches in Ireland and a multitude of ancient sites, churches and field monuments.

Tralee to Fenit via Churchill Cycling Route

Grade: Moderate

Length: 27km

Starting Point: The Rose Hotel

End Point: The Rose Hotel

The Tralee to Fenit Cycle is a 27km route with a few short hills but by taking your time and enjoying the scenery its very doable for even a novice cyclist.  Take in the spectacular views of Tralee Bay and The Stack Mountains as enter Fenit.  The fishing village of Fenit is an opportunity to lock up your bike and take a walk or swim in the bay.

Kingdomwaves Surf School

Distance from The Rose Hotel: 14.4km

Family Golf Lesson: €100 (2 adults & 2 children) includes surf boards and wetsuits

Length: 2 – 2.5 hours

Kingdomwaves Surf School runs surf lessons and surf hire at Banna Beach just a 20-minute drive from The Rose Hotel.  This ‘Blue Flag’ beach is surrounded by the Kerry Mountains and a very popular stop on the Wild Atlantic Way.  Beauty aside, the consistency of the surf makes Banna an ideal place to take a surf lesson.
